Well, this stigma encompasses the negative perception of mental illnesses, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and so many more. “But this doesn’t effect ME,” you may be thinking. “I don’t have problems like this, so it really doesn’t apply to me!” Wrong. 1 in 5 Americans will suffer from a mental sickness at some point in their lives. Just like any other sickness, it must first be acknowledged and accepted before it can be treated. The purpose of KIC week is to expand the realm of kindness and create a positive outlook on mental health. So yes, it DOES effect you. It IS about you. And YOU can make this change possible.
